1. Don't forward
jokes and stories to all your friends. If you still must send
them then delete all other addresses on the letter so only your
email will show.
2. When sending email
to a bunch of people don't use the CC but rather the Bcc because
that way each person will only get his or her email address on
the letter. If put in the CC, everyone will see everyone else's
email address.
3. Don't have the
preview pane on in Outlook express or Outlook because a spam
mail that is web based will be notified the minute you click and
view the email. Even if you only click on it to delete it. Once
they know they have someone looking at their mail, they will
send even more to the same address.
4. Don't ignore your
cookies, delete them as often as possible.
5. Don't reply to
spam mail, it will probably come back to you undelivered.
6. Don't click on the
remove from list because that just confirms that they have a
valid address and will sell it to other marketers.
7. Don't enter
contests on the internet because the chances of you winning is
even worse than you finding a million dollars on the sidewalk. |
